Vader
Almost a commissioned piece, except I didn't do it for money. In a nutshell, my boss' nickname is "Darth Vader", and my coworkers wanted a "welcome back from your vacation" piece for her. That's why the helmet has a hairnet (my boss wears a hairnet when she's at work).
I decided to go for a line-perfect rendition of the helmet, because... well... I could. I measured points of significance out from an existing picture, sketched them down, and then decided to vectorize it in Flash. Because I took so many points it's pretty dang accurate.
The hairnet was a problem. How does one draw a hairnet in flash? I ended up creating a really simple texture in photoshop and then masking it in in Flash.
