Questions about the site:

1: Why do I occasionally see reference to "Tentus Online"?
This site was originally tentusonline.com and my online name is Tentus, so bits of the site are still going to reflect that naming convention. I just like to go by Tentus.

2: Where does this "Tentus" name come from?
Simply put, it's my last name in Latin. I like it for that, and it starts with my first initial, and it sounds like "Ventus", which is Latin for "wind", or sometimes used in reference to magic. Yay magic!
Also, I just think it's a very cool fantasy name. It's even better than Meneroth, which is my Elvish name.

3: What's up with the funny angular symbol next to your newsposts?
That's the symbol or logo that I commonly use to mark my stuff. It's a combination of a lowercase k and an uppercase R, and then angularized. I designed it up years ago, back when I was making fan art for ZeldaLegends. My username was (and is to this day) Koroks Rock, or KR for short, so I stuck my little symbol in the corners of some of my artwork. It'll still pop up on some of my stuff, as a symbol indicating not only that it was made by me, but that I particularly like it for some reason. Sort of my "seal of quality".

4: Could you explain the links at the top of each page?
Those are the "NavLinks" (sometimes called "breadcrumbs" on other sites). If you're wondering what part of the site you're in they will tell you very clearly, and provide a means to go up into the section index. Below is a screenshot of the NavLinks for the Site Map page.

5: What's the deal with the sections? I'm confused, why not have everything in one folder?
In reality, all the pages are in one folder, but I'm a subcategorization ho, so the site has virtual folders that divide everything into sections and subsections if necessary. It makes life a lot simpler for everyone once you get used to the system.

6: How often/when does this site update?
I'm trying to get back into a MWF schedule, but my life can be weird- I promise the site will get updated 2 times a week, on Monday and Friday, and hopefully the occasional Wednesday.
I used to update the site at midnight(ish), but due to school and work scheduling I've changed it to noon. I'm usually pretty good about making the update within an hour or so of the normal time, unless I mention ahead of time that something will happen differently.

7: Why is the contact page really an "about" page?
Poor planning? I'm not really sure, but I don't want to fix it. For some reason I prefer it the way it is.

8: You keep changing how the site looks. Why?
I'm a perfectionist, so it's hard for me to be satisfied with my own work. Also, I shift between being sci-fi-y and fantasy-y regularly, so sometimes I want to have a site that reflects one and not the other.

9: Ok, then how do you change the site?
Usually (when I'm on my Windows machine) I use Notepad+ and Photoshop/Flash/whatever. When I'm on a Linux machine I use gedit and GIMP.
I do almost everything myself, by hand (it's a good way to force simplicity and cleanliness, and it makes me keep a clear idea of what I'm hosting all the time). Recently John has helped me to make some edits via some scripts, but it's a pretty new development. With photoshop I try to use entirely original materials, because using other people's work is a good way to end up in jail.

10: Do you have a map I can use to find stuff?
Yes.

11: You have links to a lot of webcomics. Do you read all of thse?
Yep, and a lot more than that. I currently read several times the number shown on the links page, and I need to get off my butt and update the list. Some of the comics listed have finished or died. :P

12: What's up with the different colored text?
That indicates when a different person is talking, other than me. Nashaii talks in dark green. I talk in the default black.

13: I was reading your source and you have dev1 and such in comments. Why?
Well, I'm one of those people who strongly believe in commenting code- even simple old HTML. Originally, I had every single page fully commented with little explainations. But I decided that having these comments was actually spamming my code, so I created a text file holding all my comments, and then made little labels for them, such as dev4.1. The system works pretty well and allows me to write down the whys of my pages without spamming the pages themselves up.

14: How's Statcounter working out for you?
Great! I was able to work it into my site seamlessly, and it's very gratifying to be able to examine my traffic. I highly recommend them.

15: Are you gonna put adverts on this site? If so, can I get one?
Hmm. Maybe. I really don't need the income right now, and I don't get enough traffic to warrant an advert system yet.
If I do set one up in the future, it'll probably be text-based ads, probably sitting below the chibi pages. I don't need to use Project Wonderful or anything, so ads will be bought through email and Paypal, for however long people want to run them.

Questions about the comics:

1: How many comics are you trying to do?
I'm in the production stages of my fourth comic undertaking, which is radically different from the others. The previous three projects are all in limbo. They were all set in the same setting, but they had different purposes and styles, each of which I would like to improve in personaly before going into real production. Ironically enough, they will probably be produced in perfect reverse order.

2: So the comics are... ?
Little Tentus (LT) is the original story, and is dark, artsy, and plot driven. Really Little Tentus (RLT) is simplified artistically, and draws its scripts from LT, but is not trribly serious. Eyes In The Cloud (EITS) is a goofy, lighthearted comic with loose/easy art, and an independant/freeflowing plot. Finally, Sandstorm Conscience is a metaphorical tale that focuses on a what-if pair of societies that don't get along so great.

3: Do you have any plans for your stuff, like a book or something?
Sandstrom Conscience is supposed to be printed eventually, and maybe web serialized. The others, by contrast, will definately published online, and maybe printed. If I do any printing it will probably be through friends in the field, because I don't trust big publishers.

4: Where did the name Little Tentus come from?
Well, it's sort of a working title for now, but essentially I wanted a hero that represented the parts of me I like most, so naturally he inherited my name, Tentus.
As his design solidified, and the style and purpose of the comic began to come together, I decided that "Little" would do well to emphasize the themes of the comic...
It has absolutely nothing to do with Little Gamers. I have yet to get into that comic, and had barely heard of it when I decided "Little Tentus" would work for me.

5: How do you plan to make Little Tentus?
The plan is to model and render as much of it as possible in Anim8or, and then do some cleaning to each panel in Photoshop, as well as doing the lettering and composition in Photoshop.
If you're wondering "why Anim8or?", then the answer is easy- it's a really easy program to use. It's free, it's lightweight, it can import 3ds files (so I can get some help from fellow modelers), and I have some experience with it. It's not as powerful as Blender or 3DMax, but it'll do what I want it to.

6: What's the estimated time of arrival for Little Tentus?
I honestly don't know. It really depends on how long it takes me to model Tentus, Otis, a few props, and the first stage. If I have trouble with scripts that could push it back even further. Bits and pieces of the comic will hopefully formulate before then. Expect to see RLT befor LT.

7: What's up with Really Little Tentus?
It's a way for me to make more comics without going nuts. It's also a handy outlet for the kind of stuff that detracts from comics like Little Tentus- explaining stuff, making bad jokes, etc. So yeah.

8: What's up with the URLs in the comic section?
To be honest, I'm not a programmer, so they're a system that works with my meager ability to do Javascript. It's not something to worry about, maybe someday I'll figure out a better system.

Questions about the us:

(Real quick, a lot of questions can be answered by reading the Contact page).

1: Do you do commissions?
Um. Sorta?
If I don't think I can do what you're asking me for, I will do my best to hook you up with one of my friends who can.

2: Sometimes you phrase things very strange or use a word I don't know. Why?
I've actually had people ask me if I'm foreign, due to my habit of phrasing things oddly. I also sometimes have this semi-Latvian accent that confuses people.
The reason is simple- I like to play with words, and mess with how they work. I love Scary Go Round because of how they talk. At one of my old jobs, we would tell jokes in this accent that has leaked into my everyday speech. It's nothing to worry about, most of the time I'm not even aware it's present. When I'm not consciously or unconsciously mangling the english language, I'm usually very high-spoken, like an english professor (which I am not, by the way).

3: You're strange...
Indeed, and I take pride in it. I gave up on being like others a long time ago- I came to understand that I simple wasn't like other people, in terms of habit, mind, memories, or even physical form. I break or bend the rules of what constitutes young american males all the time.

4: What do you really look like?
O_o Why are you asking?
Umm, I'm about 6'3" tall and about 140 pounds last I checked. I have big curly brown hair, something of a beard (which is mostly brown right now, but sometimes it's part red), brown eyes, and long claws. I'm really skeletal and lean, and have a grimace for a smile, and a tendency to look sleep-deprived.

5: I disagree with something you said in your rants.
Ok. And?
If you think I said something false or jumped to an incorrect assumption, please email me. I'm not always clear in what I mean, and these are human opinions, subject to human error.
However, I have my opinions for reasons. The reason the rant section is separated out is so that noone has to read my sometimes crontroversial views on stuff. So don't expect me to turn on a pin. I will, however, politely listen to whatever you have to say.
