Conceptually, there are only a few ideas here, but the execution of those ideas has nearly limitless possibilities. Quite literally, really... the invader language is really a binary sequence encoded into grids. Each line forming the grid is on/off, meaning that whether or not they're there has the same meaning as our 1s and 0s for computers. So, if there are 5x5 squares, that means there are 6x6 lines with 6 segments each... or translated, 2 to the 60th power ((2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5) x (2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5 x 2^5)).
The flash therefore has 1,152,921,504,606,846,976 possibilites per character, if I've done my calculations right. No garauntees. But I figure that even if I'm horribly off, that's a ton of information, which means that each character could represent an entire phrase in English. Or, I could boil each one down to a single ten character word, which means that in order for the language to be speakable, I need to toss out the quarter of words that are unpronouncable... still a whopping huge number.
I think I'm starting to blather. Made entirely in Flash.
