This sketch shows pretty well how far we've come in the past three years. It also highlights how some things are exactly the same, which makes me glad in a way. Enjoy your slightly cheesecakey sketch!
Media Comment: What a good game. There are a number of things I'd do a little differently, but compared to the number of things done beautifully, I have no right to say anything.
Surprise update! I've got a little extra time this week, being done with the semester, so I thought I would share one of my projects with you!
Media Comment: I don't like to be negative in my media comments, but I actually wasn't that impressed with this film. The visuals were good, but the movie could be renamed 'Bitches: The Movie' and it would have made better sense. I just didn't like any of the characters and felt that the English was a bad decision.
Today's sketch was drawn for a facebook group having to do with pokemans and profile pictures. Good times! In other news, I am almost done with this semester, just one exam to go. Finally, this marks the third anniversary of the site. Also good times!
Media Comment: Bawww, this one is even more adorable than the first season. Also, macroecomics are surprisingly interesting, again.
Here, have a new dragon concept doodle. This was originally drawn in red and black, but I deciced that it gave the wrong impression, hence the green.
Media Comment: Another very pretty game, with a lot of elements that I really like. Some stuff isn't quite to my liking (combat), but in general this is the kind of game I want to see more of.
Got guilty about not updating, decided to share this despite roughness. First time I've posted a rant in forever, eh?
Media Comment: A very fun and pretty game. Very Hobbit-ish, but needs more variety in the enemies and slightly longer skill trees.
Time for another logo, this time a one-color that I put way to much grunge on. Oh well, live and learn. (Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah).
Media Comment: A very fun game, though it could use a bit more depth. Only being able to have two moves is really limiting, and there needs to be a way to get special effects for Pokemon you already befriended. Loads of good times though.
This semester I just so happen to be taking fencing as a PE, and we just so happen to be required to attend the club at least twice. I decided to make it into a journal comic because... well... I can.
Media Comment: Coraline is a damn impressive movie, but I'm not a huge fan of absolute evil. Still, the movie is visually arresting and the characters are fun.
Well, you guys hav see the Femur Children several times, now it's the Stewards' turn. I don't usually expose my raw work like this, because it's somewhat embarassing, but I do want to share some insight into my process a bit.
Media Comment: Worst anime I've ever intentionaly finished. Parts of the show, like the mech animation, were great, but the rest of it was awful. Character designs and relations were deeply flawed, the story was nonsense AND poorly cut together, etc. Sad face, it had so much money put into it.
My difficulties have bled over and mutated this week, but I've pulled through ok. It has spurred a bit of unhappy self-contemplation, which in turn led to my characters having some contemplative moments. Left as a doodle because I haven't done one in a very long time.
Media Comment: As beautiful and atmospheric as the first game, which is saying a lot. I was immensely pleased that LW2 kept most of the old mechanics and built on them, which led to some great puzzles. Still short though.
To say that I have had difficulties this week would be a tremendous understatement. To this end, I'm having to fall back on an abandoned logo concept that I somewhat like. It was for a client that wanted to stress their beverages more than their music, I'm afraid.
Media Comment: A short game that is utterly filled with excellence. The humor is great, the environment was awe-inspiring, and we desperately need more games like Brutal Legend.
