Early update because I will not be online at midnight as per usual.
I think I mentioned this guy on Twitter, but maybe not. Either way, new sketch, it's overflowing with nerd if you catch the references I make.
In other news, I am now officially on my summer vacation (all one week of it). Woo! If you email me this week there may be some significant lag in me responding.
Media Comment: When you're not watching the high-school shenanigans this show is amazing- space battles are awesome! Some of the character art is a bit off, in my opinion, though it varies for episode to episode: the 3D stuff is consistently jaw-dropping though.
It has been far too long since I made a bellcurves comic, so here's a new one. Have a chuckle on me.
Media Comment: The four episodes thus far have been very interesting, which is great because a series like this carries a message that is hard to get people to pay attention to. (HAY GUYS, DISASTER IMMINENT, K?)
This sketch was made for a coworker, so it won't hold much meaning for most of the world, but it's still cute.
Media Comment: Long name for a fascinating show. The four episodes I've seen so far have been visually arresting and full of neat little ideas that make me go 'Oh cool!' Art direction is top-notch, and the music is excellent. (The opening to episode 1 is made of win).
Game humor AND relationship negativism- I'm on a roll! This is the start of a new initiative I'm pushing on the Sauer community. We'll see how that pans out.
Media Comment: I watch the first ep of this a while ago and wasn't interested. I gave the second ep a second chance and it got me that time. I spent my entire Saturday plowing through the whole series in one go, AND LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. (This, btw, is why the latest SC is yet uncolored).
And now for something different. I was doing some woodwork today and decided to do some playing around with my jigsaw. This is what came from it.
Media Comment: This was the first anime I ever watched, and I am still blown away by the quality of art. This is also one of the very few animes I can watch in English (though I still prefer watching shows/movies in their original languages).
Here's the update, yet another digital joke. I was surpised by how long I ended up spending on this one: three times what I expected. Oh well.
In case you missed it, I have stopped posting about my updates to Sandstorm Conscience. It updates each Friday-ish.
Media Comment: Platformers are fun, but can be incredibly stupid. Die die die expiriment die die expiriment die move on is not a good design in general. Jak does a pretty good job, but can be very frustrating.
Have a lame joke, courtesy of a long overdue cup of coffee one morning. It's kind of sloppily done, but it makes me chuckle.
Media Comment: I remember this show being more technical and less of a love story. Maybe because the last time I watched this show the animes preceeding it had more romance? Still a great show.
I think I may stop announcing SC pages on this site, since it's kind of redundant. Hmm. Well, page 22 is up, go check it.
Media Comment: There better be a second season of this down the road, otherwise K-On has one of the most underwhelming endings ever.
Well, I haven't managed to color the last four SC pages yet (I know, I know), but instead I have managed to whip up a redbook for the Religion sidestory I'm trying to bolt together for NCWCCC. You can check the PDF out here, but I should warn your that my editor has not looked this over yet, so it's still in bad need of revision.
Media Comment: No time for new media this week, I have been overworked with creating new site backends.
Due to last week's delay, today's update is a double spread, which I cannot wait to see in print. Also, if you haven't noticed, I have made a new site design for SC, though I'm not 100% about it yet. Too white.
