Back! From WTH Con! In one piece, no less! Amazing!
So, in keeping with widespread con tradition, I am putting up a con-centric doodle as my update today. I had the good fortune to sit in on Jennie Breedan's art panel, and it gave me some good food for thought- we may see some long-lasting effects of her advice over the next few months.
Now, sleep!
Media Comment:
Had some trouble with my network last night and wasn't able to make the upload. Truth to be told, I gave up, went to bed, and hoped it would be working this morning- which of course it wasn't. So now I've got a massive CAT5E cable running from the far corner of my house to where I'm sitting now. Sorry about the delay and all.
Today is actually a double edition! (See what I did there?) I have made significant updates to not only my Coding for Artists rant (a menu at the beginning, improved ui, more examples, and cute little illustrations), but also a completely redrawn version of Pout! I can see how it's tempting for artists to go back and redrawn their archives... it just gets so embarrassing so fast.
Media Comment: I purchased the full version of Auditorium, and you should too! Especially since their asking price is $11, I mean, I spend more than that on two normal meals.
I'm starting this month out with a digital, and it's probably going to be followed by a series of digitals: I just don't have the time to work on the other sections. :'( Anyhow, give it a look, it came out ok.
Media Comment: The SVN version of Sauerbraten is easy to get and use- if you have Tortoise installed. Just don't try to use it on an existing folder, bad stuff can happen (or more precisely, not happen).
The image for today is a bit of fanart that I'm releasing the source file of as well. If you haven't heard me gushing about Moyashimon, you should check back through the history pages.
Media Comment: One of my siblings gave me the manga for Pumpkin Scissors, and I liked it quite a bit, so I have been very pleased with how loyal the anime is to the books. Music is absolutely rockin, too.
Surprise Wednesday update! I have brought the Looking to Hire page a bit up to date and made it more attractive.
Media Comment: This series makes me tremendously hungry all the time. I like the characters (most of them), and the general handling of the series makes it a good laugh. The sub that I'm using is also quite nice, in that it notes and explains the puns.
For today I've decided to put up a new chapter of Holocene, even though it's a shorter chapter than I'd like. I originally planned the conversation to touch on a number of other topics, but the flow worked better when I divided it in two.
Media Comment: The Sword of Truth novels aren't lasting me as long as they used to. I seem to remember them lasting more than 1 1/2 days apeice. Whatever, still fun to read.
Tonight's update is a new concept drawing of the girl (I should go ahead and reveal her name, but...) this time going in a rather different direction than I usually take her.
Media Comment: This show is great for rainy days. The characters are blindingly vibrant, and the animation/art style fits like a shoe. (Which is an odd saying, now that I think about it...) Anyhow, great fun to watch, but also exhausting- I'm having to take a break after watching too many in a row. :P
The next chapter of Holocene Pax is up. I have also given the story an index page and done some misc writings updates. I promise that Kerberos is not abandoned, but simply stuck (actually, that's probably not much better...)
Media Comment: Oh Terry Goodkind, why must you write such long books that keep me from getting any work done on the weekends? I have such a ridiculous weakness for good fantasy lit.
Today's update was going to be a pretty neat flash animation, but I had trouble getting an essential resource, so instead I'm sharing a website rough draft. It's a bit different than the usual, and I like it from a technical viewpoint.
Media Comment: Legend of the Seeker would be better if I weren't such a fan of the books. If you can look past some of the little problems, it's actually a pretty decent fantasy show. (Little things like the Agiel used by Denna being much too large bother me- that's never going to fit around RR's neck later on).
Today school starts again, and I've also decided to officially resume midnight updates. Or, you know, midnight-ish. Anyhow. Here's the update for today, hope you guys like backstory. This junk has been rolling around for quite a while.
Media Comment: Toradora is extremely funny and cute. I want a palmtop tiger in my life! This is one of the very few animes I've watched that's ongoing, so it's weird waiting for the next one to come out.
